  • Why the move toward independence is accelerating – particularly in the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) segment
  • How advisors are redefining their value in the 21st century

Marc Spilker is Executive Chairman of Merchant Investment Management, a private partnership providing growth capital, management resources, strategic opportunities, and direction to independent financial services companies, particularly those focused on wealth and asset management. He previously served as president of Apollo Global Management - one of the world’s largest alternative investment managers - after a 20-year career at Goldman Sachs where he rose to become co-head of the investment management division.

John Peluso is President of First Clearing, a business unit of Wells Fargo Clearing Services serving broker-dealers and RIA firms. A 25-year veteran with Wells Fargo Advisors and its predecessor firms, John was instrumental in launching Profit Formula which was the firm's first foray into independence. He then went on to lead Wells Fargo Advisors' Financial Network, the firm's independent representative channel, into becoming one of the most successful independent businesses in the country.
